Hubballi MTS Colony Murder Case Solved; Accused Arrested
Old Hubballi police successfully cracked the case of Vijay Basava’s murder, a 25-year-old whose partially burned body was discovered in the MTS colony on Wednesday morning.
The prime suspect, Syed Azhar, a resident of Millat Nagar and close friend of the victim, has been apprehended. The motive behind the murder appears to be Vijay’s alleged harassment of Azhar’s wife, who had lodged a complaint against him.
Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar, in a statement to Hubli Express, revealed that Azhar had previously warned Vijay to stop harassing his wife. However, despite the warning, Vijay persisted in his actions. Azhar, devising a plan to eliminate Vijay, lured him to Karwar Road under the guise of a casual drink. According to Sukumar, the accused intended to carry out his sinister plan there. However, he might have noticed bystanders, and changed locations and took him to MTS Colony for another drinking session.
Exploiting Vijay’s inebriated state, Azhar brutally struck him on the head with a boulder and subsequently set his body on fire. Commissioner Sukumar commended the police team for their swift resolution of the case
