Hubballi Gleams After Mega Cleanliness Drive: 12,000 Lend a Hand!
Hubballi, February 4, 2024: A wave of green washed over Hubballi on Sunday, as over 12,000 volunteers from Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa transformed the city in a single, unified effort. The Dr Sri Nana Saheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan of Maharashtra spearheaded this mega cleanliness drive, bringing together a diverse sea of participants united by a common goal: a cleaner, healthier Hubballi.
From bustling market squares and serene graveyards to government offices and police stations, 164 locations across four sectors saw dedicated teams of 50 tackle waste with committed determination. Their three-hour endeavor yielded a remarkable outcome: a staggering 2,000 tonnes of garbage collected – five times the daily average managed by the city’s civic workers!
Volunteers from different backgrounds and states worked shoulder-to-shoulder, their collective energy creating a visible impact on the city’s landscape.
“It was truly inspiring to see so many people come together from different places, all united by the desire to make a difference,” said a participant from Maharashtra.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, MLA Mahesh Tenginkai, HDMC Corporators and officials, civic workers joined the hands in make the city cleaner.
