Hubballi: FIR Registered Against Two Students for Smoking Ganja
Hubballi: The Cyber Economic & Narcotics (CEN) Crime Police have nabbed two students for allegedly smoking ganja on Kusugal Road near Oxford College on Thursday afternoon.
According to the police, Head Constable CM Kambalimath and his team were on patrolling duty with the aim to check smuggling and usage of ganja in Keshwapur police station limits. During this patrol, they noticed two youths, approximately 20 years old, suspiciously smoking and hiding near Biranji Hotel.
The CEN staff approached the youths and inquired about the smoking. The youths openly admitted that they were smoking weed. The staff promptly took them to the police station, reported the incident to the SHO, and subsequently escorted them to KIMS Hospital to verify whether they were indeed smoking ganja. The medical report later confirmed that these two students had indeed been smoking ganja.
The police have booked them under Section 27(b) of the NDPS Act 1985 and are actively investigating the case to determine the source from which these individuals obtained the weed.
