Heavy Rainfall in Haveri: 25 Devotees Stranded in a Stream Rescued
Haveri: In a swift rescue operation, 25 devotees stranded in a stream due to sudden heavy rainfall were safely rescued near Ramalinga Math, located on the outskirts of Baradur village in Savanur taluk.
The devotees, residents of Toddayallapur in Haveri taluk and Allapur village in Hangal taluk, were on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur. On Sunday night, they stayed at Ramalinga Math, situated on the outskirts of Baradur village. However, due to the heavy downpour, the Bajirayana stream began overflowing beyond its limits, surrounding the Math. The devotees were trapped inside, unable to exit.
Villagers alerted the fire brigade and the police, who promptly initiated a rescue operation. The rescue team used boats to safely evacuate all 25 devotees from the Math.
