Gurumitkal’s former MLA Nagangouda Kandakur passes away

Gurumitkal’s former MLA, Nagangouda Kandakur, has passed away at the age of 79. He breathed his last today at a private hospital in Yadgir after suffering a heart attack.

Kandakur, a close aide of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, was elected as MLA from Gurumitkal Assembly seat in 2018 on a JD(S) ticket. His final rites are scheduled to be held on Monday, January 29, in Kandakur, his birthplace.

He is survived by his son, Sharangouda Kandakur, who currently serves as the MLA for Gurumitkal.
