A groom’s dream wedding turned into a nightmare when he arrived at the venue to find that the bride he had never met in person was nowhere to be found. Deepak Kumar, a resident of Mariyala village in Jalandhar, had been in an online relationship with a woman named Manpreet Kaur, whom he had met on social media. Despite having never met face-to-face, their connection grew strong enough for the two to arrange a wedding.

The ceremony was scheduled for December 6 at the Rose Garden Palace in Moga. Deepak, who works in Dubai, and his wedding procession arrived at Lohara Chowk around noon, full of excitement and anticipation. However, when they arrived, they were greeted with nothing but disappointment. There was no sign of the bride, and attempts to contact her were unsuccessful. She claimed she was on her way, but soon her phone was switched-off.

The groom and his guests were left stranded for six long hours without food or drink, waiting in vain for a bride that never appeared. By 6 pm, after being repeatedly strung along, they filed a police complaint.

Deepak shared that the woman had requested Rs 60,000 for wedding expenses, but he had never spoken with her over the phone or met her in person. Initially, the wedding was set for December 2 but was delayed to December 6 due to a claim about the bride’s father being ill.

The family is now reeling from the shocking betrayal, and police have launched an investigation using the phone number provided by the groom. Authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind what appears to be a carefully orchestrated scam that has left the groom heartbroken and humiliated.
