In a bold move to solidify India’s position as a global leader in electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy, Ola Electric has unveiled an ambitious roadmap spanning both sectors. The company’s recent Sankalp 2024 annual launch event, held at its Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, was the stage for several groundbreaking announcements.

Ola Electric made a significant leap into the electric motorcycle market with the introduction of three new models: the Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro. This strategic expansion targets the motorcycle segment, which currently accounts for approximately two-thirds of India’s two-wheeler market.

The company also revealed plans to integrate its proprietary cells into its vehicles beginning in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. This vertical integration is expected to enhance performance and reduce costs, potentially accelerating EV adoption across India.

At the event, Ola showcased several technological advancements, including:

  1. The indigenously developed Bharat 4680 cell and battery pack
  2. A new Gen-3 platform for future vehicles
  3. MoveOS 5, the latest iteration of its operating system

Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CMD of Ola Electric, expressed confidence in the company’s ability to drive EV adoption. He highlighted their success in the scooter segment and emphasized their commitment to revolutionizing the motorcycle market with their new product lineup.

This multi-pronged approach, encompassing new products, advanced technology, and vertical integration, underscores Ola Electric’s ambition to transform India’s automotive landscape and establish the country as a global hub for EV innovation and production.
