Fatal Airdrop: Humanitarian Efforts Take a Tragic Turn in Gaza
In Gaza City, a tragic incident occurred as airdropped aid boxes, part of joint operations by Arab countries and the US, caused casualties and injuries. Some parachutes failed to deploy, leading to the swift descent of the boxes on Palestinian gatherings, reported Anadolu news agency.
The wounded were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital and the Baptist Hospital. Israel’s retaliatory offensive, ongoing since a Hamas attack in October, has resulted in over 30,800 deaths and nearly 73,000 injuries, causing widespread destruction and shortages.
The blockade imposed by Israel has left 85% of Gazans displaced, facing starvation, and damaged 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure. The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to cease genocidal acts and ensure humanitarian aid to Gaza.
