Bengaluru: Former minister KS Eshwarappa is likely to hold a meeting with his supporters in Shivamogga on Friday if his son, KE Kantesh, is denied a BJP ticket to contest the Lok Sabha election from the Haveri-Gadag constituency.

According to sources, the BJP is considering fielding former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai from the Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha seat after current MP Shivakumar Udasi declined to contest the election. Additionally, there are discussions about possibly fielding former chief minister Jagadish Shettar from Belagavi, though sources suggest he might be considered for Belagavi, Haveri, or Dharwad.

Rashtra Bhaktar Balaga, Shivamogga has organised a meeting to seeking suggestion, the meeting was convened to discuss, contemporary political developments happened in Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency. former minister KS Eshwarappa will be present in the meeting which will be held on March 15, Friday at 5 pm at Banjara Bhavan in Shivamogga city.

It is said that KE Kantesh may contest as an independent candidate from Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency, if he was denied party ticket to contest election from Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha seat. Meanwhile, Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra has expressed confidence that Eshwarappa would not go against the party.

Meanwhile, the BJP, which recently held a Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, is expected to release its second list of candidates, including names for 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka.

Supporters of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha are protesting near Hinkal flyover in Mysuru, urging that he be given the party ticket for the third time to contest the Lok Sabha election. An online campaign has also begun to put pressure on the BJP leadership.

Rumors are circulating that former chief minister DV Sadanand Gowda may not receive a BJP ticket this time to contest the election from the Bengaluru (North) seat. Reportedly, Gowda is in talks with KPCC president DCM DK Shivakumar, who has offered him a chance to join the Congress party and a ticket to contest the election from Bengaluru (North) or another constituency in Bengaluru.

BJP General Secretary CT Ravi, summoned by party leaders, reached the national capital on Tuesday. The Chikkamagaluru-Udupi constituency is witnessing a “go-back Shobha” campaign, with a section of BJP workers expressing dissatisfaction with current MP Shobha Karandalaje. Despite the campaign against her, BJP veteran BS Yediyurappa is supporting Shobha. Whether she will secure the party ticket remains uncertain.
