DK Shivakumar Makes Biggest Claim: BJP is Trying to Impose Governor Rule on State
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has asserted that the BJP is endeavoring to impose governor’s rule in the state under false pretenses of a collapsing law and order situation. He vehemently stated that the Congress will not allow the BJP’s purported conspiracy to succeed.
Addressing reporters, DK Shivakumar highligthed that the state’s law and order situation is exemplary and unparalleled across the nation. He dismissed BJP’s allegations linking the tragic murder of Neha Hiremath in Hubballi to a breakdown in law and order as baseless conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the government.
Shivakumar assured that the police are conducting a fair and impartial investigation into the case, stating that accused would be punished according to the law.
In response to former CM Basavaraj Bommai’s comparison of Karnataka to Bihar, Shivakumar pointed out that while incidents like in Hubballi occur due to personal reasons all the time, the state’s law and order remains robust. He affirmed that the government has empowered the police with full authority to maintain law and order.
Former Afzhalpur MLA Malikayya Guttedar and Sharada Mohan Shetty joined the Congress party in Shivakumar’s presence, indicating growing support.
Shivakumar predicted a dismal performance for the BJP in the upcoming general elections, suggesting that they would not secure 200 seats nationally and would fail to win double-digit seats in southern states. He attributed the BJP’s alliance-building efforts to their recognition of their weakened position.
