Dharwad Murder: Police Take Mother into custody for alleged killing of her Baby

Dharwad: The Sub Urban police have taken Jyoti Hiremath into custody, the mother of a 4-year-old girl with special needs, for allegedly killing her daughter by slashing her throat at their residence in Hugar Oni, Kamalapur.

Hiremath is the prime suspect in the case and is currently being questioned by the police. The motive for the murder remains unclear at this time. Police said that poverty and the challenges of raising a child with special needs may have played a role.

“We are still investigating the case and will release more details once the investigation progresses,” said Sub Urban Police Inspector.

Hubli Express tried to contact, Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar, to get more details but she did not respond to us.
