Democrat Representative Calls for Halt to GOP Impeachment Inquiry Against Biden

Washington, USA: Democrat Representative Jamie Raskin, a key member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, has urged an end to the Republican-led impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden.

This comes after the Justice Department special counsel indicted FBI informant Alexander Smirnov for allegedly making false statements about the Ukrainian energy company Burisma paying off the Bidens.

Raskin argues that the indictment exposes the impeachment inquiry’s reliance on a lie. However, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer insists the inquiry is not undermined by Smirnov’s case, stating it is based on substantial evidence beyond the FBI’s FD-1023. The GOP Oversight Committee emphasizes their commitment to the investigation, citing bank records as reliable evidence.
