Delhi Boy Mistakes Father’s Pistol for Toy, Brings It to Class
A 10-year-old boy in Delhi unknowingly brought his late father’s pistol to school, mistaking it for a toy. The incident occurred at a private school in Najafgarh, where teachers discovered the firearm in the boy’s schoolbag. Fortunately, the pistol was unloaded, with no magazine inserted, according to police reports.
The school, located in Deepak Vihar, immediately alerted local authorities. A police team arrived and confirmed that the child had brought the weapon from home, believing it to be a toy. The boy’s mother explained that the gun, which belonged to her late husband, had been left out to be deposited at the police station after his passing a few months ago.
The mother later deposited the firearm at the police storehouse, and the gun’s license was verified and found valid. Police determined that no criminal offense had occurred.
