Bengaluru, March 22: The candidate selection process for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections in Karnataka has entered its final phase.

The BJP has released its initial list of candidates for 20 constituencies in Karnataka, leaving eight constituencies awaiting final selections. Meanwhile, the Congress has announced candidates for a total of 24 constituencies spread across two lists. Discussions for the remaining four constituencies are currently underway, marking the concluding phase of the selection process.

Candidates have been confirmed for the constituencies of Chamarajanagar, Kolar, Ballari, and Chikkaballapur. Tomorrow, March 23, evening could witness the announcement of candidates for the four remaining constituencies. Notably, the discussion surrounding ticket allocation for Kolar has been particularly critical, with conflicts arising over power dynamics, resulting in significant tensions among party leaders. This tension underscores the gravity of the final stages of the selection process.

In Chamarajanagar, Sunil Bose, the son of Minister Mahadevappa, has been finalised as the candidate. For Kolar, L. Hanumanthappa, while Raksha Ramayya is likely to be nominated for Chikkaballapur. Additionally, E. Tukaram is expected to be announced as the candidate for Ballari.
