CM Siddaramaiah Orders Transfer of Darshan and Others to Different Prisons
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed grave concern over the special treatment being afforded to actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and others at Parappana Agrahara jail. He announced that the government has taken the matter very seriously and has ordered the immediate suspension of the officials responsible.
The Chief Minister also directed the Director General of Police to transfer Darshan and others to different prisons immediately. Additionally, he instructed the DGP to visit the jail and provide a full report on the incident.
This response comes after a photograph of Sandalwood actor Darshan leisurely enjoying coffee and a cigarette at Parappana Agrahara prison went viral, sparking public outrage. The incident has caused a significant uproar in society.
Darshan is currently incarcerated at Bengaluru Central Prison in connection with the murder of Renuka Swamy. A video allegedly showing him making a video call from inside the jail has also circulated online, further intensifying the controversy.
