New Delhi: Channapatna is a JD(S) constituency, so the selection of the NDA candidate will require a decision of both JD(S) and BJP. The confusion regarding the candidate will be resolved in the next two or three days, said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi today, he said that the final decision regarding the Channapatna candidate will be made by both BJP and JD(S) together

He mentioned that he, Leader of the Opposition in Karnataka R. Ashoka, former CM Basavaraj Bommai, and BJP state president Vijayendra had already discussed the matter. He also said that Vijayendra has spoken to HD Kumaraswamy.

Discussion with the high command: Both HD Kumaraswamy and Vijayendra have held talks with the BJP national president. HD Kumaraswamy has not yet made his final decision, but it is expected within the next two or three days, said Joshi.

Yogeshwar would be a good choice: CP Yogeshwar would be a good NDA candidate for Channapatna. However, it is Kumaraswamy’s constituency, so his decision is also crucial, Joshi remarked.

Joshi emphasized that for constituencies like Channapatna, Sandur, and Shiggaon, the final decision on candidate selection will be made by the party’s high command. The BJP leadership will announce the candidates only after discussions with HD Kumaraswamy, the JD(S) state president.

List for 48 constituencies to be announced together: There is a possibility that the BJP will release the list of candidates for 48 constituencies across the country for the assembly by-elections all at once, said Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

He added that the BJP will soon announce the candidates for all constituencies, including the three in Karnataka.
