Canadian Company Viterra to Invest ₹250 Crore in Agricultural Infrastructure in Vijayapura: M.B. Patil
Vijayapura: Viterra, a leading Canadian agricultural production company, is set to invest ₹250 crore to develop agricultural infrastructure in Vijayapura district, according to Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil.
The decision was announced following a meeting at the Khanija Bhavan, where Minister Patil held discussions with representatives from Viterra.
“Viterra will play a crucial role in constructing state-of-the-art cold storage facilities for the agricultural community in Vijayapura. This initiative aims to reduce post-harvest losses for farmers and enhance efficiency in the production, supply, and marketing of agricultural products,” said Patil. He also highlighted that Viterra will employ advanced production technology, which, coupled with the introduction of modern Canadian agricultural techniques, is expected to boost agricultural output in the state and stimulate the overall economy.
The meeting was attended by Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner of the Department of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Mahesh, CEO of KIADB, and other senior officials.
