BY Vijayendra Supports Dr K Sudhakar’s Aspirations for Lok Sabha Contest, Says Nothing Wrong to Aspire
New Delhi: Following a meeting with senior party leaders in the city today, BJP state unit president BY Vijayendra addressed the media, emphasizing that there is no issue with former minister Dr K Sudhakar expressing his interest in contesting from the Chikkaballapura Lok Sabha seat.
Dr Sudhakar, who had previously switched allegiance from the Congress to the BJP, played a crucial role in strengthening the party’s presence in Chikkaballapura, an area where the BJP was historically weak, he said.
Vijayendra highlighted Sudhakar’s contributions, noting that he successfully secured a Legislative Assembly seat for the BJP, significantly bolstering the party’s standing in the constituency. While Sudhakar faced defeat in the last election, Vijayendra emphasized the inherent dynamics of political ups and downs.
Crucially, Vijayendra clarified that he had not declared that he would be the BJP candidate for the Chikkaballapura Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections. He asserted that the party’s senior leaders would finalize the candidate names after gathering the opinions of party workers across all constituencies.
