Bus Carrying 60 Tourists Overturns Near Sagar; 21 Hospitalized
A private bus traveling from Mangaluru to temples in the Sagar taluk overturned at a curve after the driver lost control. Over 21 people sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred on Sunday afternoon near Muppane, close to Aralagodu in the Sagara taluk of the district. The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Kargal Police Station.
A group of residents from B.C. Road in Mangaluru had embarked on a trip with friends on Saturday night. After visiting the Jog Falls in Sagara on Sunday morning, they were on their way to visit the Bale Padmavati Temple in the taluk when the accident occurred near Aralagodu.
Out of the 60 passengers on the bus, 21 were seriously injured and have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment. Upon receiving news of the incident, Sagar MLA Gopalakrishna Belur rushed to the hospital and ensured proper medical care for the injured tourists.
