BRTS Bus Driver Assaulted, FIR Registered

Hubballi: In a second incident within a week, a Hubballi-Dharwad Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) driver was assaulted by a passenger and subsequently admitted to KMCRI for medical treatment. The driver, identified as Shivashankarappa Chavadi, suffered minor injuries and has since filed a complaint against the accused at the Vidyanagar police station.

According to police sources, the incident took place on October 26 when the Hubballi-bound bus reached Unkal Cross. A passenger, who had boarded the bus near Bhairidevarakoppa, suddenly began verbally abusing the driver, demanding that he drive properly, and then physically assaulted him.
