For the seventh consecutive day, hoax bomb threats have caused chaos in the Indian aviation sector, grounding planes and alarming passengers. On Sunday, 25 flights across major airlines, including IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, and Akasa Air, were impacted by false security alerts.

Since October 14, more than 90 flights have faced similar scares. Although all threats have been confirmed as hoaxes, they have resulted in flight delays, disrupted schedules, and increased anxiety for both passengers and airlines.

A Vistara spokesperson reported threats on six international routes, including Delhi to Frankfurt, Singapore to Mumbai, and Bali to Delhi. IndiGo also confirmed threats to six of its flights, such as the Delhi-Istanbul and Mumbai-Istanbul sectors. Akasa Air received security alerts for six of its flights, including routes like Ahmedabad to Mumbai and Delhi to Goa. Air India also faced similar issues, though specific details were not shared.

Airlines followed strict security protocols in response, working closely with regulatory authorities. While the source of these bomb threats is mainly from social media platforms, their rising frequency is causing significant concern.

On Sunday, a social media handle on platform X, which had issued some of these threats, was blocked in response. Despite the hoax nature of these alerts, the disruptions continue to impact the aviation industry.
