Beyoncé Rallies for Kamala Harris at Texas Abortion Rights Event

Beyoncé took the stage at a Texas abortion rights rally in Houston to support Vice President Kamala Harris, urging Americans to embrace “unity” and a new direction. She called on voters to “sing a new song” of hope, referencing a break from divisive politics, implicitly alluding to former President Donald Trump without naming him. Joined by her mother, Tina Knowles, and Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, Beyoncé spoke of dignity and unity for the nation.

Rowland shared that she already voted for Harris, declaring that Americans must reclaim their voices against forces sowing division and limiting women’s rights. Harris addressed the crowd afterward, highlighting Texas’s restrictive abortion laws and pointing out that her opponent, Trump, had undone “half a century of progress” for women’s rights by reshaping the Supreme Court, which overturned Roe v. Country singer Willie Nelson performed earlier in support of Harris, calling her “Madam President” to cheers from the crowd. With the election just weeks away, Harris is leveraging celebrity endorsements to energize voters. Notably, actor Samuel L. Jackson and filmmakers Spike Lee and Tyler Perry rallied for her in Atlanta the night before.
