Bengaluru: Father Murders 14-Year-Old Son in Shocking Case of Violence

In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, a father’s harsh words, “It doesn’t matter to me if you live or die,” became a horrifying prelude to the murder of his 14-year-old son. The crime, which occurred in the Kumaraswamy Layout area, has left the city reeling.

Ravi Kumar, a carpenter, reportedly killed his son Tejas following an argument about the teenager’s excessive use of mobile phones and lack of interest in studies. The gruesome act unfolded when a minor dispute escalated into fatal violence.

Police Discover Shocking Scene
The incident came to light when police responded to reports of a suspicious death. Upon arriving at the residence, officers found preparations underway for the boy’s funeral. The family had already arranged the bier, but suspicions led authorities to take custody of the body and send it for post-mortem.

Brutality Uncovered in Autopsy
The autopsy revealed the boy had suffered severe internal head injuries and multiple bruises, consistent with a violent assault. Investigators discovered that Kumar, enraged by a disagreement over a mobile phone repair, initially beat Tejas with a cricket bat. The violence escalated as Kumar slammed the boy’s head against a wall, uttering the chilling remark.

Tejas reportedly lay in pain for hours, from morning until the afternoon, before being taken to a hospital. Tragically, he was declared dead on arrival.

Family Conflicts Turn Deadly
Deputy Commissioner of Police Lokesh B shared that frequent arguments had occurred between the boy and his parents over his studies and alleged poor company. These tensions culminated in the fatal altercation.

Attempt to Destroy Evidence
After the boy’s death, Kumar attempted to cover up the crime by washing blood stains, hiding the cricket bat, and proceeding with funeral preparations. These actions were an apparent effort to disguise the murder as a natural death.

The police have arrested Kumar, and further investigations are ongoing. Tejas leaves behind grieving parents and two younger siblings.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of unchecked anger and domestic discord.
