Bengaluru: NIA Probes Fatal Blast, Discovers It Was a Pressure Cooker Incident
A incident in South Bengaluru‘s JP Nagar on Tuesday resulted in the death of one person and left another injured after a pressure cooker exploded.
The blast occurred while two barbers, Sameer and Mohsin, were preparing Khichdi. The explosion triggered a fire from a small gas stove, which rapidly engulfed their home, destroying all household items. Both men, who had been residing in the area for the past eight years, suffered severe burns in the accident. Unfortunately, one of them succumbed to his injuries, while the other is currently receiving medical treatment.
Initial reports speculated that the blast might have been caused by explosives, prompting both the police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to conduct a thorough investigation. A case has been registered at the Puttenahalli Police Station. This suspicion may have been influenced by an earlier explosion at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe, which had injured at least ten people earlier this year.
