Hubballi: Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar has called on the government to terminate the Bendre private bus service operating between Hubballi and Dharwad, citing its contribution to traffic congestion.

In his statement, Shettar questioned why private buses continue to operate in the twin cities despite the availability of the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System). He pointed out that Bendre buses frequently stop at various locations without adhering to designated stops, and despite numerous warnings, they have not modified their behavior, leading him to suspect they have significant backing from certain lobbies.

Shettar urged Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy to address the issue and find a solution to the ongoing traffic jams. He shared his concerns on social media, which sparked mixed reactions. While many supported his stance, netizens from Belagavi criticized him for not focusing on the issues faced by Belagavi residents, emphasizing that he represents the Belagavi Lok Sabha constituency.
