Autopsy Report Uncovers Brutality in Kolkata Doctor’s Murder Case

The autopsy report on the doctor who was raped and murdered at the RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata has revealed shocking details about the brutal crime. According to the report, the victim died from manual strangulation combined with smothering, and there is clear evidence of sexual assault.

The findings detailed in the autopsy, as reported by The Indian Express, include evidence of “forceful penetration/insertion in her genitalia,” confirming the sexual assault. The report noted 16 external injuries on her body, including abrasions on her cheeks, lips, nose, neck, arms, and knees, as well as nine internal injuries. Injuries to her private parts were also documented, all sustained before death.

India Today reported that a “white thick viscid fluid” was discovered in her genital area, although the exact nature of the substance was not specified. The report did not indicate any fractures but mentioned hemorrhaging in the lungs and the presence of blood clots.

The victim, a trainee doctor, had gone to the seminar hall of the hospital for rest during her extended 36-hour shift. Her body was found on the morning of August 9. A civic volunteer named Sanjay Roy has been arrested in connection with the case after his Bluetooth headphones were found near the scene.

The Calcutta High Court has directed the CBI to investigate the case further. The victim’s father has alleged that multiple individuals may have been involved in the murder. The CBI is also questioning Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the medical college, regarding the delay in allowing the victim’s parents to view their daughter’s body.
