Authorities Seize Unaccounted Cash in Hubballi
Hubballi (Karnataka), March 18: The officials on duty at Sulla Road check post have seized Rs 3.82 lakh which was being transported without documents.
At approximately 6:05 PM on March 18, a car bearing registration number GJ 05 JB7162 was intercepted and thoroughly searched by Magistrate Ramadanasab Killedar, SST and FST 3, Naga Naik, alongside police personnel, while en route from Kiresur to Hubballi.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle contained ₹3,82,000/- in cash belonging to an individual named Om Prakash, lacking any accompanying documentation. The cash was seized in accordance with the law, as reported by Dr. Ishwar Ullagaddi, the Assistant Returning Officer for the Hubballi-Dharwad Central Assembly Constituency and Commissioner of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation.
In a press release, Dr. Ishwar Ullagaddi stated that the operation was conducted in the presence of MCC Nodal Officer Ravindra Kumar, Police Inspector Kiran Kumar, ASI RG Naik, and ASI GC Kademani.
The confiscated cash, found without proper documentation, has been promptly deposited into the treasury, with a comprehensive report submitted to the District Seizure Committee for further action, Dr. Ishwar Ullagaddi confirmed.
