Melbourne: Australian cricketer Aaron Finch, the former World Cup-winning captain, has announced his retirement from the Big Bash League (BBL) with Melbourne Renegades at the end of the current season.

The 37-year-old, who captained the Renegades for nine seasons, expressed gratitude for his cricket journey and highlighted winning the BBL title as a special moment.

Finch’s impact as a leader was acknowledged by Renegades Head Coach David Saker. His farewell BBL match is scheduled for January 13. Finch retired from international cricket in February 2023 after leading Australia to victory in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
