Australia: Teen Charged Over Alleged Terror Plot to Target Brisbane School

Brisbane: A teenager has been charged by the Australian Federal Police in connection with an alleged plan to target a school in Brisbane‘s northern suburbs.

Authorities believe the teen was trying to acquire firearms through online channels. The Queensland Joint Terrorism Team has charged the teenager with one count of preparing for, or planning, a terrorist act.

This charge carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, regardless of whether the act of terrorism is actually carried out.
