Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Indefinitely Amid Rising Tensions in Middle East
Air India announced on Friday that it has suspended its flights to and from Tel Aviv indefinitely due to the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The decision, effective immediately, was made in response to the current situation in the Middle East.
The airline emphasized that they are closely monitoring developments in the region, with the safety of their passengers and crew being their top priority. “In light of the current situation in parts of the Middle East, we have suspended the scheduled operation of our flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect until further notice,” Air India stated in a post on X.
Passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to or from Tel Aviv will receive a full refund, and the airline is offering support to those affected. This announcement follows a previous decision by Air India on August 2 to halt services to Tel Aviv until August 8, in response to rising tensions in the region.
The situation in the Middle East has grown more volatile since the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in Iran, allegedly by Israeli forces. Air India’s suspension of flights is a precautionary measure as the situation remains fluid and uncertain.
