Actor Darshan Shifted to Ballari Central Prison, Named in Two FIRs in Connection With VIP Treatment Case
Ballari/ Bengaluru: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, previously incarcerated at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru, has been moved to Ballari Central Prison under heavy security. He is currently in custody in connection with the alleged murder of his fan, Renuka Swamy, where he is designated as accused number 2. His female friend, Pavithra Gowda, is listed as accused number 1.
Darshan’s transfer to Ballari came after a video and photograph surfaced, showing him receiving VIP treatment in prison, which went viral. According to sources, the move was made based on a court order. Individuals seen with Darshan in the viral content will also be relocated to various prisons across the state.
In the meantime, police have registered three FIRs regarding the allegations of VIP treatment that Darshan received at Parappana Agrahara Jail, with sources indicating that he is named in two of the three FIRs. The police have intensified their investigation into the matter, specifically looking into who provided Darshan and others with cigarettes, coffee, a chair, and a table while in custody.
