New Delhi: Accusations fly as the Delhi government claims the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is plotting to impose President’s rule in the national capital. Atishi, Delhi AAP minister, stated they have received credible information suggesting a political conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the Arvind Kejriwal-led government.

According to Atishi, senior IAS officers’ appointments in Delhi have remained stagnant for months, despite vacancies in various departments. “Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in a baseless case, without any evidence, signifies a deliberate attempt to overthrow the elected government of Delhi. Past events indicate a well-planned conspiracy,” she remarked during a press conference.

“At present, no new officers are being posted in Delhi, internal transfers have ceased, and officers have stopped attending meetings since the announcement of elections,” added the AAP leader. She also highlighted the dismissal of Mr. Kejriwal’s private secretary as part of the alleged conspiracy.

In response, the BJP refuted all allegations, dismissing them as fabricated. BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana stated, “The AAP concocts new tales every day. They claim officials aren’t being appointed, but since September, the Chief Minister hasn’t met the Lieutenant Governor.”

These accusations follow closely after the Delhi High Court dismissed a petition filed by Mr. Kejriwal challenging his arrest on March 21. The AAP leader’s residence was raided, and he was subsequently arrested by the Enforcement Directorate, hours after the court denied him protection from arrest.

Mr. Kejriwal’s arrest by the ED last month was in connection with a corruption case linked to the now-repealed Delhi liquor policy.
