Dharwad: A 20-year-old youth was stabbed in the head just above the eyebrow in the Kelageri area of Dharwad on Saturday night. The injured person has been identified as Prajwal Jadhav, an auto-rickshaw driver by profession.
According to the Suburban police, the incident happened near Kelageri bypass and it was not at all related to the Ganesha idol immersion procession. The injured brother had a minor altercation during the Ganesha idol immersion procession with a youth while dancing to the tunes of music. The matter was settled then only.
But Prajwal’s brother and the youth who had the altercation met near Kelageri bypass unexpectedly, and both started arguing once again over the same issue: that he pushed him while dancing in the crowd. Soon, Prajwal’s brother summoned a group and, at the same time, Prajwal’s brother also arrived at the spot. The youth from the opposite group stabbed Prajwal, said the police.
Dharwad Sub Urban polie have registered a case and they are searching for the accused. The injured has been shifted to KIMS Hospital in Hubballi, doctors have removed the knife from the head.
