Dharwad: Sports and Youth Empowerment Minister K. C. Narayana Gowda has said that the Yogathon organised by the Karnataka Sports and Youth Empowerment Department created a record on Sunday with the participation of 4,05,255 yoga enthusiasts.
In a press release, the minister stated that the Yogathon was organised as part of the 26th National Youth Festival. He said that over 14 yoga enthusiasts had enrolled their name to take part in the event and 4,05,255 people simultaneously performed yoga today; he said.
He said that the earlier record had been held by Rajasthan, where about 1.5 lakh people had participated in a yogathon. The event was held across 31 districts at 33 locations.
