Yediyurappa to hand over Rs 25 lakh cheque to Harsha family.

Shivamogga: Former chief minister BS Yediyurappa will hand over a Rs 25 lakh cheque to the family members of Harsha, a Hindu activist who was killed by miscreants in Shivamogga just a few days ago.

KS Eshwarappa, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Development, informed the reporters about this. He stated that he and the former CM will both hand over the government’s cheque to the family on March 6.

The minister also assured that compensation would be provided to those who suffered property loss during the violence that broke out during the procession of the final rites of Harsha. The minister also charged that it looks that organisations like SDPI and PFI were behind the communal violence that broke out recently in Shivamogga city.

Harsha’s family had received help from various organisations and a few politicians helped from their own pockets, and now the government has decided to help the family financially.

Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has clarified that the Harsha family will not get a BJP ticket to contest the next Assembly election and said this was just a rumor spread by the Congress party.
