Hubballi: On the occasion of World Stroke Day, city-based neurosurgeon Dr Vijaymahantesh Pujari’s Nara Vijnana clinic will hold a walkathon all through the city on Friday to increase awareness about stroke among the general public.
Dr Vijaymahantesh told reporters on Wednesday that there is a need to raise awareness about stroke among the general population.
It is also critical to raise awareness about stroke prevention. He stated that persons who suffer from a stroke require immediate medical attention, yet many patients arrive at the hospital late, making treatment difficult.
According to Dr Vijaymahantesh, every minute counts after a stroke since every second you wait causes thousands of neurons to die, therefore getting quick medical assistance is crucial. As a result, it is critical to identify the symptoms as soon as possible and send the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The purpose of the walkathon, according to the doctor, was to raise awareness about stroke. The walkathon will be attended by city medical professionals as well as dignitaries. The function would be attended by VRL Group Chairman Dr Vijay Sankeshwar, he added.
The walkathon will take place between 8 and 9 a.m. It will begin at the Nara Vijnana Centre, Giriraj Annexe building, and end at the Rani Chennamma Circle
