Work on textile parks in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura to start soon: CM Bommai

Vijayapura: Funds for the construction of textile parks in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura will be released. The textile parks are coming up on one thousand acres of land and provide jobs to around 25,000 youths.

Speaking after inaugurating ‘Jnanayogi Sri Siddeshwar Swamiji Super Speciality Hospital’ on the premises of JSS Hospital on behalf of Sri Siddeshwara Lok Kalyan Charitable Trust on the National Highway on Friday, he said development works worth Rs 400 crore were initiated today and more funds have been reserved for the overall development of North Karnataka. The government is anticipating orders from the court to facilitate all works under the UKP-3rd stage. Once the verdict comes, it has been decided to take up R&R of villagers which will submerge in the UKP third stage scheme, at a cost of Rs 10,000 crore. Already, Rs 35 crore has been released to the Karnataka Grape and Grapevine Board for the improvement of grape cultivation and processing. The capacity of cold storage will be increased for the benefit of grape growers.

Jobs from North Karnataka Tourism Circuit.

Bommai said tourism circuits are formed in North and South Karnataka. The North Circuit consists of Hampi, Badami, Pattadakal and Vijayapura districts and domestic and foreign tourists will be attracted by providing all facilities. The development of tourism in Vijayanagar, Bagalkot and Vijayapura districts will create employment opportunities for local youths. All these five gifts will be given to the North Karnataka region. Along with the Revanasiddeshwara Lift Irrigation scheme will be implemented.
