Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi, has stated that work for the launching of India’s first semi-high-speed rail service, the Vande Bharat Express, between Dharwad and Bengaluru is progressing at a rapid pace.
Sharing pictures of the project, Joshi said the staff have flattened an existing 3.01-degree curve of track between Kundagol and Saunshi to 1.6 degrees. He said this would help the train move at 120 kilometres per hour instead of 75 kmph. He congratulated the SWR for making rapid strides in this project.
The Vande Bharat Express service between Dharwad and Bengaluru is likely to begin in the month of March, as SWR is likely to finish doubling and electrification work by February’s end.
