Bengaluru experienced heavy rain and hailstorm on Sunday evening. During the downpour, a car carrying six people got stuck in an underpass filled with rainwater. Local residents managed to rescue individuals, but unfortunately, a 22-year-old woman named Bhanu Rekha, who was in the car fell severly ill due to water entering in her lungs, passed away despite being taken to the hospital.

The incident occurred near KR Circle, which is located just 200 meters away from Vidhana Soudha. Bhanu Rekha and her family had come to Bengaluru for a vacation during the summer holidays. Unfamiliar with the roads, their car became trapped in the underpass, following directions from Google Maps. The vehicle became completely submerged in water.

Local residents bravely jumped into the water to rescue the car’s passengers. However, by the time they rescued Bhanu Rekha, she was already experiencing difficulty breathing due to water in her lungs and stomach. She was rushed to Saint Marthas Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her condition after a delayed start to treatment, allegedly caused by the hospital staff.
