Ballari: MLA Somashekhar Reddy has said that he would contest the election from the Ballari Assembly constituency at any cost; if he fails to secure a BJP ticket, he would contest as an independent candidate and, after winning the election, would join the BJP again.
Speaking to reporters, he said he has been doing good work and has a dream of converting his constituency into a model one. For that, he would be contesting the upcoming election. “Residents have blessed me because of my work, and I always listen to them and solve their problems, and I am confident that they will bless me this time as well, and I am less concerned about the opponent,” he said.
When asked about his sister-in-law contesting from the same seat, he said, “Let her contest; my people will vote for me.” On a question about the division of votes because two family members are running from the same constituency and Congress may get the advantage of it, Reddy said Congress would not get any benefit from this fight.
Janaradhana Reddy did not listen to us.
He said that he, his brother Karunakar Reddy, the Transport Minister, and family friend B Sriramulu told Janaradhana Reddy to float a new political party, but he did not listen to us.
Aruna Laxmi, Reddy’s wife, will contest from Ballari against her brother-in-law
