Udupi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai condemned Satish Jarkiholi’s statement on the “Hindu” word and said that his statement has hurt the sentiments of billions of Hindus. He made this statement to please the minorities, Satish does not have deep knowledge of this, and he has always hurt sentiments and this was not the first time, he said.

Speaking to reporters at the Adi Udupi helipad, Bommai questioned the silence of former AICC president Rahul Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on this issue.

The CM said that Gandhi’s and Siddaramaiah’s silence shows that they support the statement of Jarkiholi. Everyone should condemn this statement and wonder why the Congress party is still silent on this issue. “What does it mean that they are silent?” asked Bommai.

CM said it is a prejudiced statement, not only that it was a systematically planned statement. Satish should repent for his statement and seek an apology immediately or else people will teach them a lesson.
