Hubballi: Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha Leader Mallikarjun Kharge slammed the Union Government, for not registering a case against the Adani group though drugs worth Rs 25,000 were seized at the Adani port in Gujarat, he said the government is behind small people.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, by making the common man’s life a living hell, the BJP has made Sabka Savanash instead of Sabka Vikas.

Kharge said the Modi government has failed on all fronts. They promised to provide two crore jobs every year, and in the last seven and a half years they should have created at least 15 crore jobs, but the irony is that many have lost their jobs and unemployment has reached its peak.

There are 32 lakh vacancies in the central government’s various departments, but the government has not filled those vacancies. Public sector enterprises are not filling the vacancies.

Kharge said that Congress is with the common man and they would extend all the possible support as an opposition party, the common man voted for the BJP despite they did not fulfil a single promise they made during the elections.

“The time will come when people will give a befitting reply to the BJP government. As an opposition party, we are doing our job and are with the people. “We are bringing burning issues to people’s attention, such as inflation, fuel price hikes, and unemployment, and we are confident that people will vote against the BJP, and the Congress has a good chance of winning these by-elections,” said the Leader of the Opposition in Rajyasabha.
