Why DK Shivakumar is performing Chandika Yaga or Homa in Sringeri?

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar, a well-known political figure in Karnataka, has made a visit to Sringeri Sharadamba temple to perform a Chandika Yaga or Chandika Homa on Saturday. This religious ritual is believed to bring spiritual and material prosperity, ward off negative energy, overcome obstacles, and purify the mind and soul.

Mr. Shivakumar is known to be a religious person, and visits various shrines seeking divine intervention. A few days ago, he performed the Rahu Ketu Shanti Pooja at Sri Kalahasti in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to reporters after the puja, he said that he visited the temple seeking divine intervention before the assembly election, which he termed as a “War”. Astrologers believe that the planets Rahu and Ketu have a powerful impact on a person’s life and can cause various troubles and obstacles. The Rahu Ketu Shanti pooja is performed to mitigate its negative effects and bring blessings and prosperity to the devotees.

Why He is doing Chandika Yaga?

Earlier in the day, Mr. Shivakumar visited Dharmasthala and offered special prayers to Lord Manjunatha. Later, he campaigned for party candidate Rakshit Shivaram in Ujire. In the afternoon, he visited the Sri Kshetra Sringeri and performed the Sankalpa for the Chandika Yaga or Chandika Homa along with his wife.

Sources close to Mr. Shivakumar have stated that he visited the temple based on the recommendation of his astrologer. He has expressed that he came to the temple town to seek the blessings of the Goddess and good days for the people of Karnataka.

The Sringeri Sharadamba temple is a revered shrine for Hindus, and the Chandika Yaga is considered to be a powerful religious ritual. It is believed to bring blessings and good fortune to the devotees. Mr. Shivakumar’s visit and the performance of the Chandika Yaga have caught the attention of many people in the state, especially since it comes ahead of the assembly election.

Talks are doing rounds that Shivakumar is performing all these rituals keeping an eye on the CM’s chair and his party to secure a clear mandate.
