What did ACB sleuths find during today’s raid?

On Wednesday, anti-corruption bureau sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at 60 locations throughout Karnataka, targeting 15 government officials from various agencies on charges of disproportionate assets.


ACB officers attached to the northern region also carried out searches on government officials in Belagavi. ACB Superintendent of Police BS Nemagouda led the raids.

Five properties and a house of his relatives belonging to Sadashiva Rayappa Marilingannavar, Gokak’s senior motor vehicle inspector, were searched by 36 officers. Sadashiva Marilingannavar, according to ACB sources, has amassed wealth that is 190 per cent more than his known sources of income.


According to the ACB, Marlingannavar has 22 acres and 50 guntas of agricultural land in Kullur village in Ramadurg taluk, a residence in Belagavi, two automobiles worth Rs. 31 lakhs, 1 kg and 135 grammes of gold, 200 grammes of silver, and Rs. 5 lakhs worth of home appliances. He has amassed wealth worth Rs 1.87 crore more than his known sources of income.

Officials have also raided three locations belonging to Srinathji Peeraji Patil, a HESCOM line mechanic of grade 2. According to ACB officials, he amassed excessive assets worth Rs 1.83 crore, which is 141 percent more than his income from known sources.


A house in Belagavi’s BK Kangrali area, two plots, two under-construction houses, one car, one bike, Rs 10.80 lakh in gold, Rs 1.18 lakh in silver articles, and Rs 20 lakh in home appliances are among the excessive assets.

ACB officers searched the home of Savadatti’s Cooperative Development Officer, AK Masti, as well as his friend’s home and workplace. The authorities discovered that he had acquired an enormous wealth of Rs 1.24 crore. which is 191 per cent greater than his known revenue sources
