Hubballi: The Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Limited is investing crores of rupees to clean the lake water and to attempt to stop sewage water from entering the lake.
They have placed aerators and raptors to enhance the water quality, but our “civic sense” citizens will not leave any chance of polluting the lake. Whether it is Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, or Navaratri, people will discard the Pooja materials after worshipping God.
One of our readers sent us the photos. Littering in lakes and public areas is punishable by penalties by the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation.
The HDMC should take severe measures against these individuals, and the public should be discouraged from dumping the waste in the lake.
