Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi, has stated that he has expressed a clear opinion to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command that Shettar should be given the party ticket to contest the upcoming assembly election from the Hubballi-Dharwad (Central) constituency.
speaking to reporters after garlanding the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar in Hubballi, Joshi further mentioned that he and Shettar have also met with BJP National President JP Nadda regarding this matter, and he believes that the issue will be resolved without any complications.
He expressed confidence that Kalaghatagi MLA CM Nimbannavar, who alleged that Joshi was responsible for him not receiving a party ticket for the Kalaghatagi constituency, would not leave the BJP. Joshi clarified that he has spoken to Nimbannavar and his son over the phone, and he plans to personally meet with him to address the issue.
When asked about former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi leaving the party after being denied a party ticket, Joshi advised Savadi against joining the Congress, stating that the BJP has provided him with numerous opportunities, including the position of deputy chief minister, and has a bright future in the party with ample opportunities. Joshi mentioned that he had only one suggestion for Savadi, which was not to leave the party.
Joshi also acknowledged that due to the BJP being a winning party, there has been a rush of aspirants, which has caused some confusion. However, he assured that these confusions would be cleared up within a day or two.
