Bengaluru: Social media is abuzz with viral videos from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)’s victory celebrations on June 4. Unfortunately, the celebrations took a tragic turn, claiming 11 lives and leaving over 50 people injured.
While many videos show RCB fans celebrating their team’s maiden IPL trophy win with unrestrained enthusiasm, one particular clip has gained attention for highlighting a glaring lapse in civic sense and public responsibility.
This viral video, widely shared by the Instagram page Bengaluru Updates, shows large crowds of people jumping over metro station gates, blatantly bypassing the mandatory QR code or token entry system. The footage reveals the extent of crowd mismanagement, as thousands of fans struggled to enter or exit metro stations amid the chaos of the celebration.
In the now-viral clip, dozens of individuals can be seen climbing over the automated fare gates at an unidentified Namma Metro station. With trains packed beyond capacity and movement severely restricted, many commuters resorted to forcefully entering the station, sparking outrage online. Social media users have widely criticized the behavior, calling it a clear example of civic irresponsibility and poor public discipline.
