Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed in style by the BJP MPs in the House after guiding the party to a spectacular victory in four of the five Assembly elections. When Prime Minister Modi entered the Parliament House on Monday, he was greeted by enthusiastic BJP parliamentarians who raised slogans hailing Bharat Mata and Modi Modi, which reverberated throughout the House.
In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the saffron party retained power in all four states, winning in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, and Uttarakhand.
The party won 255 seats out of a total of 403 in Uttar Pradesh, giving it a landslide victory. They won the support of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and independents in Goa after emerging as the single largest party with 20 seats in the 40-member Assembly. They won a simple majority in Manipur, with the party securing 31 seats in the 60-member Assembly. They won 47 seats out of a total of 70 in Uttarakhand.
