Gadag: A leopard was spotted on Gadag Binkadakatti Road, NH 67, on Sunday night, and a video of the sighting has gone viral.
The 45-seconds-video shows the leopard sitting on the road as an NWKRTC bus passes by, a two-wheeler rider comes close to it, and a cop passes without noticing the big cat’s presence. The residents of the area are panicked, and the forest department has alerted residents of Asundi, Binkadakatti, and Teachers Colony to avoid venturing out after sunset and to remain vigilant.
The forest department has launched an operation to catch the leopard and has used drone cameras to locate the animal, but their efforts have not yielded any results so far. The staff believes that the animal might have moved towards Nagavi and Kalasapur via Teachers Colony. The sighting of the big cat has created fear among the residents, who are demanding that the forest department catch the animal as soon as possible.
