Belagavi: Former Minister Vinay Kulkarni has stated that he does not have the desire to contest from the Shiggaon assembly constituency. However, he mentioned that the party’s high command has suggested him to contest from there several times as he has no permission to enter the Dharwad district.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said that running from that constituency was not necessary and could potentially hurt the chances of other senior leaders and aspirants in that area.
He stated that he has the capacity to win from 3-4 other constituencies, including Dharwad rural, where he is not allowed to enter the constituency or district. Kulkarni has expressed his willingness to obey the decision of the party’s high command, whether they suggest he should contest or not. He said he is ready to sacrifice his desire to contest for the betterment of the party.
